Winslow Homer

1836-1910 Winslow Homer Locations Winslow Homer (February 24, 1836 ?C September 29, 1910) was an American landscape painter and printmaker, best known for his marine subjects. He is considered one of the foremost painters in 19th century America and a preeminent figure in American art. Largely self-taught, Homer began his career working as a commercial illustrator. He subsequently took up oil painting and produced major studio works characterized by the weight and density he exploited from the medium. He also worked extensively in watercolor, creating a fluid and prolific oeuvre, primarily chronicling his working vacations.  Related Paintings of Winslow Homer :. | Happily home | Hakusan in horse riding trails | The Briarwood Pipe (mk44) | Sea | Croquet Players |

Antoine Caron
1520-1598 French Antoine Caron Location Antoine Caron (1521 in Beauvais - 1599 in Paris) was a French master glassmaker, illustrator, Mannerist painter and a master (teacher) at the School of Fontainebleau. He is one of the few French painters of his time who had a pronounced artistic personality. His work reflects the refined, although highly unstable, atmosphere at the court of the House of Valois during the French Wars of Religion of 1560 to 1598.
